How is LINKS™ Implemented?
The LINKS™ Metacognitive Strategies System consists of a staff development series with support structures that provides teachers with concrete metacognitive strategies that can be integrated into daily classroom. LINKS™ is implemented using the powerful metacognitive tools from the Elementary (K-5) or Secondary (6-college) LINKS™ Strategies Resource Handbook. These handbooks are used in our dynamic workshops to help teachers in their challenge to differentiate instruction in heterogeneous settings.
Teachers in all curricula areas can also use the handbook’s tools to link instructional and assessment practice.
They learn how to select and incorporate LINKS™ Strategies into content instruction at all levels, providing districts with consistency in instructional practice. This consistency provides students with a set of strategies that enable them to be independent learners while preparing for challenges of high-stakes testing.
Students in the district will be taught metacognitive reading and writing strategies. They internalize and apply these strategies and tools as independent learners.
Teachers within a K-12 structure will confidently and consistently integrate LINKS™ Metacognitive Strategies System into instructional practice.
LINKS™ multi-level instructional strategies will be used to help special and general educators teams to deliver high-level content in heterogeneous settings.
Parents will partner with teachers by helping students practice newly learned strategies.
LINKS™ Certified Facilitators will train and mentor new hires and support the building principal with implementation of the Strategy-of-the-Month Agenda plan.
